A Favorite Picture

I found this picture saved in my mother, Bernice Ruby Criswell, belongings. It is obvious that she was
impressed by it. On the envelope which she saved it in, she wrote "Picture save to frame". I am impressed and will save it, too. I'll have to get that frame for which it was meant for . I would like to read what you would name this picture or your thoughts when you view it. It has a name which I will tell you after you submit your comments. Afterwards I will tell you "the rest of the story".

Looks like a Califonia poppy, Are you going to frame the picture?

I'll have to reach back to my into to Art class Freshman year.

The flower does look like some of the poppies you posted. I just wonder if grandma liked the idea of beautiful growth coming out of less than ideal environments (i.e. the dry desert ground.) "For there must needs be an opposition in all things . . ."

Overcoming despite hardships.

Looks like the pretty little flower somehow found a way to bloom and show its beauty despite the dry cracked dirt it's surrounded by which usually keeps such things from growing into much.

I would like that to represent my life.

Your comments do show that this picture does stir up emotions. All of yours feelings are good. There is an old saying that you no doubt have seen many times. "Bloom where you are planted!".
