1986? Krista and Grandma Criswell. I can remember Grandma making mincemeat pie. I don't think I've seen that around since I was young. Grandma use to make sweet potatoes also but no marshmellows, I think.
The other thing I remember that makes me think of Grandma & Grandpa Criswell is "Ribbon Candy".
I Remember how pretty and satin looking it looked. It was kinda hard to suck on, but it didn't stop me from eating it out of the candy dish! I miss my grandparents around.

The year for Krista and Grandma Cris was 1985. I will always be happy about my Mom living with us after my Dad died. She loved her granddaughters and great grandchildren and had the opportunity to interact with them while living with us. I always felt guilt in moving our daughters to Arizona which was to far for her and Grandpa Cris to interact with them while they grew up. She was 77 years old in this picture. I am glad that your have so many good memories of your Grandma, Sandy. When you mentioned mince pie--I thought I would let you know that I love mince pie. I wanted one for Thanksgiving and could not find one anywhere in the stores or restraurants. I did find bottled mincemeat and baked one just for myself. Gramps couldn't eat it and no one else likes it. I ate one piece a day--it lasted a week. Of course, I added pecans to the mix and ate it with ice cream on top. It was a treat to myself. I saw some frozen mincemeat pies in Walmart for Christmas.

I remember Grandma's fruit cake at Christmas time.

Some day I must tell you about, during our courting days, getting into Grandma's fruit cake after returning home from a date, while home from OSU during Christmas holidays.
